Not To Blind You With Our Awesomeness.....

It's been a great couple of weeks! Lots of changes are happening in the Blasingame household!

The weather is finally getting warmer....low 40s....but warmer nontheless. We got out for our first hike in almost a year at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. You have to pay for a day pass, but it was well worth it! We had a blast! We hiked a very moderate trail for about 4.67 miles. Spencer usually gets tired, but even he did great! We're thinking of getting the yearly pass and just making it a weekend thing. It was great! So, not to blind you with our awesomeness, but yeah....4.67 miles!

Many of you know by now that I have once again started a weightloss program. My health was telling me it's time, and I'm glad I started it up again. I lost 6.9 pounds in my 1st week and have gotten in to the routine of exercising again. I always forget how good it makes me feel when I'm done (gotta love those endorphins!). I went to see a nutritionist on post, and she is helping me with ideas on how to eat healthy and she's also keeping me accountable as I have another appointment in 3 weeks. It has been fun trying new recipes and Stacey and I even managed to make it to a free cooking class that the clinic offers once a month. We had so much fun!

Stacey has an appointment tomorrow at a college to talk about starting up school again. He is going for his bachelor's this time, so things could get a little busy for him. He has been coming home a little later since being promoted to sergeant, but it is important for him to finish his degree in case they don't let him stay in because of his health. He went to the doctor last week and got some bad news on his back....he has another appointment coming up to find out if he has surgery to fix it, or if they just medical board him out of the Army. Hopefully all will work out the way it is supposed to.

I have decided to go back to school to get a degree to be a paralegal. It is something I was thinking about in Arizona and it is a degree that will compliment my master's degree and hopefully get me a job. If I am able to do this degree with only a part time or no job, I can get it done fairly quickly and get my certification. So, we'll see how it goes.

The kids both got in to James Irwin Charter School for the next school year! We could not be happier! The kids are excited too! We plan on staying in this area until they graduate, so being able to stay in the same school is going to be a real treat for them. This charter is a K-12, so no moving, period!!!

I found out a few weeks ago that I have gall stones. Probably because of my high cholesterol, but it turns out that I will be having surgery March 4th to have my gall bladder removed. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.

So, we're all keeping busy, but things seem to be falling in to place.....and that, my friend....is a miracle!
